Bilinear Flag Model
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The bilinear flag model, combines features from the bilinear model, which exhibits full cycles with maximum energy dissipation and the bilinear elastic model. It is similar to the bilinear elastic model in that it does not have residual displacements (self-centering), but it can be configured to dissipate a specificed amount of energy. The model has an additional parameter Rflag shown in Figure 32, which determines the height of the "flag" portion of the model as a multiple of the positive and negative yield strengths, where the height of the flag portion is Rflag(Fypos + Fyneg).
